Why this is the foundation
AI-901 is Microsoft’s fundamentals certification for AI on Azure. It covers the building blocks, from responsible AI and AI workloads to model components, and then has you put them to work in Microsoft Foundry.
You’ll work with generative AI apps and agents, text and speech, computer vision and information extraction, and the certification goes on your CV with Microsoft’s name behind it.

Why Python matters for AI careers
You can talk about AI all day, but Python is the language much of it is built in. Major AI libraries and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn and LangChain run on Python. Even if you never become a developer, Python unlocks the next tier of AI work: data analysis, automation and model training.
That’s why Python is a core certification in this challenge, not a bonus.
